Is switching electric suppliers safe? Will my power go out?
Yes, it's safe — energy choice is a state-regulated program run by the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio. Your utility still delivers the electricity, maintains the lines, and responds to outages no matter which supplier you choose. Only the generation price on your bill changes.
Does it cost anything to switch?
Your utility never charges a switching fee. The only cost to watch is an early termination fee from your current supplier if you leave a fixed-term contract before it ends — that fee, if any, is shown on each offer above and on your current contract.
What is the "price to compare"?
It's the utility's own standard rate for the generation portion of your bill — the number any competing offer has to beat for you to save money. If you've never picked a supplier, this is the rate you're paying today.
What's the catch with really low intro rates?
Some offers advertise a low introductory rate that jumps after a few months, or a fixed term that rolls into a month-to-month variable rate when it ends. That's exactly when suppliers count on you not paying attention. We flag introductory and variable-rate offers so you can see the structure before enrolling.
Do you sell my bill or my information?
